Winvic Embarks on €41.9 Million Atlantic Park Project in Liverpool, UK

Winvic, a leading construction company, has commenced work on a prestigious €41.9 million design-and-build contract aimed at developing four state-of-the-art warehouses encompassing a total area of 30,193 square meters. Situated on the historic grounds of the former Rolls Royce Engineering Works Factory, the ambitious Atlantic Park project is poised to redefine Liverpool’s industrial landscape.

Spanning an impressive 210,436 square meters within Liverpool’s freeport zone, Atlantic Park represents a prime opportunity for urban regeneration and economic revitalization. Owned by Royal London Mutual Insurance Society, the site has received planning permission for the construction of 74,322 square meters of industrial facilities, with the current phase focusing on the development of four warehouses featuring integrated office spaces. The warehouse sizes range from 3,716 square meters to 11,612 square meters, catering to diverse business needs and operational requirements.

Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, Winvic has been entrusted with the task of constructing buildings with a net-zero impact. To achieve this ambitious goal, Winvic is employing innovative construction practices, including the incorporation of recycled scrap metal in the reinforcement steel of the project. Furthermore, traditional concrete is being replaced with a specialized mixture containing Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), a byproduct of ironmaking known for its environmental benefits. Additionally, Winvic is implementing water recycling initiatives, aiming to reduce mains water consumption by an impressive 40%.
